Using and Caring for a Fabric Shaver

A careful setup matters before the first pass.

Prepare the garment

Check the care label, empty pockets where appropriate and arrange the fabric as the device instructions require. Avoid assuming that a method used on one garment will suit another material or construction.

Begin cautiously

Where use is permitted, test an inconspicuous area according to the instructions. Use the recommended pressure and motion. Avoid seams, embellishments and other areas excluded by the maker’s directions.

Stop for cleaning as directed

Follow the instructions for switching off and disconnecting the device before maintenance. Empty collected fibers using the stated method. Do not reach into a running head or remove protective parts during operation.

Store it ready for next time

Inspect the guard and other parts for damage and follow the recommended storage and charging practices. Use the correct replacement components. Keep the instructions with the tool so that future use follows the same guidance.
